10 MONTHS!

Wow, another week gone. Hi Fam and Friends. How's America?

This week has been a good week and also somehow a slow week.

SO first last Monday. We went to play basketball at the temple site. I got to see some of my friends that will be finishing their missions and be heading home on July 4th. Which is crazy because when I came they had just been out a year and now it's the other way around. SO you know what that means this time next year. Ha! just kidding.

So we have been doing lots of work with our investigators preparing them for baptism and helping them keep there commitments. We have one investigator, his name is Edward. He is maybe mid 50s I think. He has had a lot of questions about the church. We were able to have one of our members to come out with us to help us teach him and speak Twi to him because my Twi is still not that good but I am learning and it will be before I come home. Anyway we were able to have him come to answer his questions. Our member is great he is a returned missionary that served in Nigeria. He knows a lot and really helped Bro. Edward to answer his questions.

We have been doing a lot of work trying to find new people to teach because most of our old investigators have been not really keeping commitments so we are trying to find new people to teach. We got a referral last Sunday. He is a part-member family, he is the father of a family in our ward that are all members besides him. We met with him on Saturday and he said he is now ready to be baptized and wants to learn. I really admire him waiting and searching and finding out for himself if these things are true and now that he is ready it will make him an even stronger member of the church and sometimes these type of people are hard to find on mission here. It seems that God knows our efforts and will bless you in ways you sometimes you didn't expect. So that's awesome.

We only had one person show up to sacrament which was hard because we wanted like 4 people this week wit the people we had been preparing to come to church. Only the Part-Member family man. His name is Bro. Ofori. Awesome guy.

Last thing is in my studying, I have learned so many great things. It's true that you go on mission to converts others, but also you go to convert yourself. In John chapter 11 Jesus does a miracle a raises Lazarus from the dead and suggest you all go and read it.

Love you all, Enjoy summer because in Ghana its rainy season.

Happy Fathers Day!

Dear friends and fam,

Happy fathers day to all dads. Love you Dad thanks for all you do for me!!!

Well first off I don't have long. Like 10 mins so I need to write fast and it might be small.

First highlight of the week, is we had Mult-zone conference on Wednesday. It is always good to hear from our mission president and his wife and hear the instruction they have for us. This time we focused on "the pathway to discipleship" a talk by Elder Neil A. Maxwell. Its focus is on how we can become better followers of Jesus Christ. I really enjoyed it and suggest that you all read it.

Another thing is on Friday it rained all day so we didn't do much but we were able to find 1 new investigator. The lord will truly place people in your path!

Then Saturday my companion and I were asked to be in a video for when Dale G. Renlund comes to speak to the young women and men. So that was fun. Then we went to our stake presidents house, he invited the whole zone over to eat. So that was also nice.

Sunday we had one investigator at sacrament. He has now come twice and is really doing well hopefully we will be able to get him baptized soon. His name is Bro. Edward.

Well like I said short and sweet. Love you People.

YOU WILL BE A GREAT MISSIONARY!

Hello Family and friends back at home. I hope everything is well and that this letter finds you all safe and sound.

This week has been a good week. Missionary work/ training a new missionary is all good.

We have been able to do lots of finding in our area. Our area is somehow rough right now but as we keep working I know it can improve. To start off we had an investigator come to sacrament, just one, but out of all the people I thought who were going to come he was one who I least expected to join us. As we were walking to the chapel he shouted for us and I was very surprised to see him. He said that he enjoyed it and had lots of questions to ask in investigators class, which is always good, but he said he enjoyed the teachings. He now seems very interested.

This week I also went on exchange with Elder Patterson our District leader and it is awesome to always learn from one of our leaders and it was just somehow sort of refreshing to hear how he teaches and the methods he uses for different situations. It was a good learning experience.

We have been seeing two people who are doing awesome. Sister Dorothy who is a young 19 year old girl and is doing really well and I think she really loves the gospel, then another girl named Sister Jennifer who is 15 and stays with one of our recent converts. She is also doing awesome. They both have baptism dates for the 9th of July. We are praying and hoping everything goes well with them.

This week one of our ward missionaries is leaving on mission. His name is Prince Asante and he is an awesome young man and will make a great a missionary. He has helped the work progress so much here in North Ridge ward. He will be missed here and is one of my good friends I have made on mission. He is going to serve in the Uganda Kampala Mission. He leaves Wednesday. Ill send some pics of me and him after church yesterday and also eating Fufu.

The time has been good here in Ghana. I know my 1 year mark is still 2 months away but it seems like time has gone by so fast when I think about it.

Love you peoples. Have a good week.

Forget yourself and go to work!

Well happy week everybody!

First Happy Birthday to my Momma on Saturday. Love ya Momma.
Then Happy B day to my brooo On sunday.
Also Happy Birthday to Amy Thomas today.

Love all You peoples.

Well I hope this letter finds you well and safe.

This week was another week of training and of working hard as we have been doing a lot of finding. This week we were able to have 6 new investigators from our efforts. My new companion or my son really enjoys contacting and finding new people but we are enjoying our time together as we are both learning together.

This week one of the highlights is, I think like Wednesday, we were walking down the street and this girl stops us and tells us that her boss wants to know if we are Jehovah Witness and we say no, but we would like to meet with him, so we follow her to the man's shop were she is working and he is a guy who makes cool African shirts and wear. What else is cool is his name is Seam. Ha! Anyway he doesn't speak really good English because he is from Cote di' Vore and he speaks French. Anyways, we contacted the girl that he sent to go and get us. We gave her a pamphlet and came back the next day and she had read the whole thing and wanted to know more, so we shared with her and told her we would be back the next day to give her a Book of Mormon and when we came the following day she basically screamed as I gave it to her she was so excited. Her name is Dorothy and she is about 19 years old and has been prepared by the Lord. The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways. We are going to meet with her tomorrow.

Also this week we have received a lot of headquarter referrals and have had a chance to meet some awesome people that way. A man named James, who works at a rehabilitation center.  We went there and he told us that he was waiting for us because he had requested a Book of Mormon and we had brought one to him and he was very excited to hear our message about the restoration and some of our beliefs.

Experiences happen like this one day and then the next you have no one to teach so you just have to go finding. Mission is great haha.

I have been studying in the New Testament. One of my favorite scriptures in the New Testament that I have read is:

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

66 ¶ From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

I love this because it shows the simplicity of how the twelve looked at the Savior and how we just need to focus and what we do believe and not on the things that maybe we don't understand at first. Also it asks the question "to whom shall we go?" If we were to no more follow the Savior and turn away from him.... Where would we go?  My simple testimony to all of you is that i know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and came and suffered so we might live with him again.

Also one more thing is today we went to one of the members house in our ward and her house is sooooo nice. (see the last two pictures below, its on the beach)

Love you All...
