Mission is Sweet!

Dearest family and friends.

This is the last letter I will be writing as a missionary. It makes me sad to think about that, but also excited to see all of you. My Heart is torn 2 ways.

I have had a amazing mission. I have had some amazing experiences and met such amazing people. I have loved this land and have come to call it home.

I want to say a special thank you too all of you who have supported me through this journey. I love ya and hope we can meet real soon. Thank you all for the support from your emails and letters.
This week we did a lot of more finding and were able to find some awesome people who are prepared by the Lord for this message. My companion and the one who will replace me will do really well.

One awesome experience is we found a Nigerian sister named Cynthia and she is awesome! She has a lot of questions about the gospel and we are planning to meet her tomorrow. We also taught a lady named Lydia who is also interested in the gospel and had some very good questions about the church and things we do.

Again I have LOVED this place for the 2 years I have spent here. I would not trade it for anything. It is the best thing I have ever done, and will be the best thing I ever do.

One thing I want to share is my testimony of the Book of Mormon I have gained on mission. As some of you know the beginning of my mission was not the easiest thing. I had a rough start and at one point I wanted to call it quits, my mission president, whom I have grown to love and respect, gave me the challenge to read the Book of Mormon completely through and then if I still wanted to quit I could. I said I would and started to read and it changed my whole thinking. I grew closer to my Father in Heaven and became better friends with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I wanted others to feel the same way I did. I encourage you if you have not done it already to take the challenge and read the Book of Mormon and find out for yourselves. I have loved it.

I love all you people and I am excited to see you all soon. Be safe. God Bless.

Signing off for the last time, Elder Paulson.

Final Lap!

Hi family and friends,

I hope this letter finds you all safe and well.

Well this has been another successful week in Lartebiokorshie. We have been doing lots of finding to try and get our teaching pool to be bigger. When I arrive home I will give anyone who can say Lartebiokorshie correctly on there first try that did not serve in Ghana, I will give you 10 dollars. Challenge is out.

We have been working hard and having fun this past week. We had our zone conference this past Wednesday and we talked a lot about how we are here on the Lord's errand and how we have a job here. President compared us to Gideon when he faced the middionites. How he had to trust in the Lord and how the Lord could only show his true power with a smaller army. He went into battle with 300 against 20,000-30,000 and he won.

I have grown to love this place and the people here. I have come to understand and learn about my Father in Heaven's plan for us, his children. I have come to know that we have a Savior and he paid the ultimate price for us that we may return to live with him again. I know that this is God's church on the earth, restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is the key for us to know if these things are true. I love you all. I know this is not my last letter but it's getting close and I have so many things to say. I will just save them for when I come home.

Stay safe and May God bless.

Here comes the sun.....

Hi family and friends,

I hope this week finds you well and safe. Today we don't have much time so I am going to write a quick letter and then next week I will give you more information.

Everything is going well here in Lartebiokorshie, life is good. We are doing well. We have had a stressful week doing a lot of different things other then missionary work. Like helping missionaries with things, going and ordering food for the zone conference and also having people come and fix our house. It has been a rough week of doing randoms things.

One thing that I have thought about this week is how each of us has choices and linked with each choice we make is either a blessing or a curse to us and something we regret. One scripture I really have found to love is Mosiah 2:22 and the beginning says, "All that he requires of you is to keep his commandments." That is it. That is all he requires of us is to follow the things he has given to us and he will bless us as we do. So as we make good choices, as my Papa would always say, our Father in Heaven will bless us. That blessing may not come now or tomorrow or even this year, but it will come and when it does you will see how it changed your life.

I love all you people. Be safe and may God bless.

Mission is a serious blessing!

Hi family and friends,

I hope this letter as always finds you safe and all happy, this week we have been working hard and have had another good week of finding new people to teach.

For this email I'm going to talk a lot about the things I have learned being here.

Mission is a huge blessing that over the 2 years I have spent serving the Lord I have learned so many amazing things and met so many wonderful people. I have loved the past 2 years I have spent here. It was not the easiest thing but it was worth it.

We have been visiting a lot of members lately this past week so that we can be able to be better friends with the ward and they can be able to trust us more, it has been a lot of fun to get to know them and become friends with people I did not know before.

As I have been reading in the Book of Mormon these past couple of Days, I have loved it. I am now in the Book Of Ether and one part that I loved is,

Ether 3:19: And because of the knowledge of this man he could not be kept from beholding within the veil; and he saw the finger of Jesus, which, when he saw, he fell with fear; for he knew that it was the finger of the Lord; and he had faith no longer, for he knew, nothing doubting.

This has become one of my favorite versus in the Book of of Mormon as I have study it.

I love you people. I know this letter is shorter but I hope you can see the meaning I have behind it.

I hope all you guys are safe. May God bless.

Really? 5 weeks....

Hi family and friends,

This week has been a good week, getting my new companion Elder Ofozie and showing him around the area is a lot of fun. We are getting along really well and both enjoying our time together.

We have been doing a lot of finding and contacting to try and get our teaching pool to be bigger. We have a lot of good people we are teaching right now, and hoping to have some baptisms before I head out of this place.

Tuesday Elder Bangura left to Kasoa and Elder Ofozie came. Then Wednesday was a normal day of full proselyting.

Thursday we had our MLC meeting at the mission home with the Ap's and President to discuss things to better help our mission this up coming transfer to better the work of the Lord. I have really enjoyed those meetings and feeling the spirit there as we counsel together as leaders and to learn from President.

I have been continuing to study from the Book of Mormon and learn from it every day and it has influenced me so much as I have read and put the promises it gives us into action. I love it and know it can bless any who read it.

This week I had the chance to bare my testimony in my ward here, and when I got up there it hit me that this is my second to last fast Sunday here and that made me sad and I realized what little time I have left here. Like I have said before I have grown to love these people and the culture here. From the time I have spent here learning from them has influenced me for the rest of my life and I will always remember the things I have learned here.

Well everyone be safe and Happy 4th of July. May God bless.

Last Transfer!

Hi family and friends,

Another week gone by and seems like they are flying now. Crazy how time goes by.

This week we were blessed with a baptism with two awesome people that we have been teaching. We have had an awesome time with Bro. Israel and Bro. Johnson sharing with them and answering all their questions and they were both so excited to be baptized and join Jesus Christ's church. I have had some amazing experiences shared with them. I'ts amazing how fast people can grow to you so quickly.

So this week we had transfer news and I will be staying to finish my last transfer in Lartebiokorshie, My companion Elder Bangura will be going to Kasoa, Ashtown to be with my former companion Elder Antwi. My new companion will be Elder Ofozie. He will be my final companion which is crazy to think about but life is all good here in Ghana Lartebiokorshie.

We will be having some more baptisms coming up in July hopefully.

We have been visiting a lot of members this past week trying to build relationships with them. It has been alot of fun being with them and getting to know them more and more. I feel the more I get to know each one of them the more they become like family to me then anything.

I have experienced so many things here that have grown and strengthened my testimony. Seeing how the gospel can bless so many peoples lives who have very little but rely so much on God. It's a very humbling experience and I have been so grateful to experience it.

I love all you people. Thank you for the letters of encouragement and love. May God bless.

Crazy how time flies!

Hi family and friends,

I hope that all of you are safe and this letter finds you happy.

This week has been a good week for my companion and I.

So Tuesday I got super sick and was having pretty bad stomach problems so that was not to fun.

Wednesday I was feeling a lot better so we went to district meeting and then to Kasoa to get measured for our suits, my companion and I, so that kind of took all our day.

Thursday through Saturday were normal proselyting days. Our investigators Israel and Bro Johnson are doing really well and both progressing towards baptism this week so hopefully that comes through. Life is really good and I'm really loving the people and place still.

I was just thinking this week how fast time goes by and how it seems like I was just getting past one year yesterday and now I'm coming up on my last 6 weeks. Just comes to show,  take every moment in and live so you have no regrets in things that you do. I have loved my mission and have come to learn so many things and I'm not the person I was when I left. I know this is God's church and that he really does speak to us. I can't describe how thankful i am for all the things I have learned here. I love you all.

God bless and be safe.

Another Week Down!

Hi every body and greetings from Ghana. Happy Birthday to My momma and my brother. Love you guys both so much.

This letter will be short and sweet because the power went out and I don't have much time.

This week we had a good week with finding and doing the Lord's work. We are preparing to have three baptizims on the 23rd of this month with some awesome people the Lord has blessed us with. I'm excited about that and the teachings we are having with them.

This past week we had our Multi zone conference and I had the opportunity to give a instruction on "change and become." It really helped me to learn more about the Savior and the things he has in store and the way he wants us to become. I learned a lot from a verse in 3rd Nephi chapter 12:48 which says " Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect." Possibly the hardest commandment we have been given. Although sometimes life is hard and it seems that we can't go on I know that God gives no commandment that we cannot follow and he loves us so much.

Also last thought is that today we had a zone activity at our chapel and we played games and played pure water dodge ball, the water that is in bags we throw them at each other it is a lot of fun. Then we had a lunch and it is just a good chance to get together and know each other more.

I love all you people and hope you are all safe and may God bless.

Elder Clayton Stopped in!

Hello family and friends,

I hope this letter finds you all safe and well. This week has been another good week for us here. I hope you all enjoy this letter.

First highlight of this week is that Elder Clayton President of the Quorum of the Seventy was here this week for the Lartebiokorshie stake conference and had some awesome things to tell us. He talked a lot about ministering to others and helping people by service.  I really enjoyed hearing of his message.
This week is another week of preparation of the upcoming Multi-zone conference on Wednesday for us. We have to go and order all the food for the conference and also buy the drinks and go and set up the place and just make sure everything is in order for the conference to go successful and it can be a little stressful but it's all fun.

This week we have been having some awesome lessons with our investigator Israel, he is doing amazing and is really prepared by the Lord. He came with us to the conference and asked a lot of good questions while we were there.

We have also been blessed to find a new investigator this week named Johnson and he is also awesome. He is like 60 and was living in Nigeria for 38 years and he said that all the churches he has gone to he does not feel like they are true. He saw us and said he just felt like he should talk to us, so he stopped us and we have met with him twice this week and he is really doing well. He also attended the conference with us.

This week Wednesday I have also been asked to instruct for the conference on change and how we can become like the Savior and that has made me to reflect and look at the way I have been blessed to change on my mission and do his work here and have had the chance to serve his children. I think I have shared this before but I love the example of Paul for this. One of the people who persecuted the Savior the most and then became one of the most devoted people to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is my favorite example of changing and becoming like the Savior.

It's crazy all my friends are heading home. Congrats Ethan. SHOUT OUT to E for finishing up strong and heading back home. Love you man. See you soon.

Love you all and will talk to you next week. Be safe and may God bless.

Hi family and friends,

I hope this letter meets you all with happiness and you are all doing well.

This week Elder Bangura and I had a good week with contacting and doing finding which is the big push in our mission. We have done well this week and were able to find 6 new investigators. We had a couple of funny people we ran into but all in all good new investigators we are excited to start teaching these people.

Life is good. Working hard here in Lartebiokorshie. We have our multi zone conference coming up next week.

This week we have done a lot of finding. I cannot really remember any stories from the week. We are still teaching an awesome guy named Israel. He did not come to church this week but hopefully he will be getting baptized on the 16th of June. He is awesome and always says what we teach is true.

This week President invited us to use the Book of Mormon as much as possible in our teaching to use it to find people who are prepared for the gospel. It is so true. I have had so many experiences where people have been touched by the Book of Mormon and has been the true helper with the Holy Ghost in helping them get converted to this gospel.

I'm sorry my letter is not too much. Not a lot happened this week. I love you all. Be safe and God bless.

Elder Soares stopped in!

Hi family and friends,

I have had another wonderful week here in Lartebiokorshie and hope you all love reading this letter.

First of big highlight of the past week. Yesterday we had the amazing opportunity to have a devotional with newly ordained Elder Ulisses Soares. He is in Ghana and early yesterday morning we had the chance to meet with him and Elder Marcus B. Nash of the Africa West area Presidency. It was at the new Ghana MTC and was a cool experience and was probably the last time i will see an Apostle on mission. He taught us how we need to focus more on what our mission president would have us do and he expressed his love that the Quorum of the twelve Apostles send to us. He is a great man and wears the mantle of the Apostle of the Lord with great honor.

We have had a good week with teaching in our area and have had many awesome new investigators. Something funny that happened this week is we went to teach a women named sister Pascalle. She is a less- active women we are teaching. She is really amazing. She has a little boy who is maybe 2 or 3 but whenever we come and he says he always runs around say "Jesus Christ is here!". It is soo funny I will take a picture with him next time we visit them.

This week on Saturday hopefully we will be having a baptism for one of our investigators named Roger who is a Part member family. He is awesome and always has alot of questions for us when we come and wants to know the truth.

On the spiritual side of things. I wanted to share something that I heard from Elder Marcus B. Nash at one of last years Multi-zone conferences he shared with us about the pre-earth life. He shared with us about the Plan of salvation and one thing that has stuck so strong with me. He shared the following- when we were in the pre-earth life and when a savior was needed to be chosen and satan wanted to come and save us and and give himself the glory and Jesus said send me and thy glory be thine forever. Heavenly Father choose Jesus and we jumped and shouted for joy when he was chosen because we knew that he would not fail. We knew that we would be saved because he was the best of the best. He was and is our savior and redeemer. He loves us and gave his life because he loves us. I love this scripture 1 corinthians 15:10. I am what I am and i will not let his grace be in vain.

I love you all. Huge Shout out to my guy Elder Campbell. Man youve worked hard man. Love you. May God bless.

Happy Mother's Day!

Dear family and friends,

I hope all of you had an awesome mothers day and showed love for moms all over the world. I want to tell my Mother another happy Mother's Day! Also happy Mother's Day to all my Mommas out there. Love you all.

This week we have been able to teach some awesome people and find some awesome new investigators this week.

First highlight is that I will be staying in Lartebiokorshie also Elder Bangura will be staying for another transfer with me which I'm excited for. Life is good here for us and we are working really hard to move our area and our zone forward.

We were able to teach an awesome young guy named Israel. He has alot of questions but really wants to know the truth about which church is true. He is awesome and I will keep you all updated on his progression.

We also have had transfers this week and Elder Manning will be going to the bush to love that place like I did.

On Saturday night we had a party at our place before we got the transfer news. We made burgers, fries, chicken and some fried rice. It was alot of fun and I will send some pictures.

Another thing that I have learned from this week is God loves all his children. Each one of us is special in the sight of God.

All is good here from Ghana. Hope you all have a good week my people. I love you all. May God Bless.

Another Week!

Hi family and friends,

I have had another good week here in Lartebiokorshie with the work that we are doing.

I hope all of you have had a good week and are all safe.

The highlights of the week that I have are that we have done a lot of finding this week. We have been trying to find some new people to teach that we can be able to widen our teaching pool. Things are looking well though for us here. I have continued to love the people here and the things that I'm doing. The city is much different from this area. The people are different and somehow not as nice haha. I still love it though, haha.

This week we had the chance to attend the temple and see the beauty that the temple has in it. It's amazing how different you feel when you come out of the temple and just you can forget the things of the world while you are in there. I love the temple.

We also just did alot of proselyting this week. Not a whole lot of stories.

One other story that I have is when we went to the temple we had the chance to bring with us a member who is here in Ghana from Sierra Leone for medical purposes and she is an older women but really reminds me of my grandmother. She is really nice. When we were in the car she showed us her temple recommend and it had been expired for two months. So kind of long story short, the temple president said we should go and talk to the area presidency, so we went and talked to Elder Kacher one of the area presidency and he got the mission president of the Sierra Leone mission on the phone and interviewed her and got a recommend. That was a interesting experience.

Well I love you people and hope you are all safe and sound. God Bless.
